About Us

For over 60 year, Troop 221 has served the Pleasant Hill, California community. We are a “Boy-Led Troop”, with approximately 40-registered Boy Scouts. We have an active team of trained Assistant Scoutmasters and Adult Leaders that are committed to enabling each Boy Scout to reach his potential.

Christ The King Catholic Church is our Chartered Organization.  Christ the King Catholic Church sponsors and supports Troop 221.

When does Troop 221 meet?

Troop 221 meets Monday evenings from 7:00 pm to 8:15 pm (excluding holidays).

What is a “Boy-Led Troop”?

Troop 221 is a Boy-Led Troop. The Boy Scouts plan and execute their own programs, with the guidance and support from trained Adult Leaders.

What is a “Troop Patrol”?

A Troop Patrol is a small team of six to eight Boy Scouts who work together to learn skills, share responsibilities, and assume Troop Patrol leadership roles.

Who runs Troop 221?

Who plans the Troop meetings and activities?  How is Troop 221 organized?

Troop 221 meetings and activities are discussed and planned at during the monthly Patrol Leaders Council (PLC). The PLC members include the following Troop Leaders:

What Leadership, Training, and Education programs does the Troop support?

Troop 221 conducts regular in-house leadership training programs. In addition, the Troop supports and participates in the National Youth Leadership Training (NYLT).

Troop 221 has an active Patrol Leaders Council (PLC). The PLC consists of the Senior Patrol Leader, his assistants (experienced Scouts) and the Patrol Leaders. This group meets once a month to plan the Troop’s weekly meetings, camping trips, and service projects.
